Great TV--just wish it had picture in picture.
Great performing TV! Setup was a breeze--although despite how thin it is, it is pretty heavy. Delivery was prompt and efficient. I wish it had picture in picture, but the HD picture itself is phenom!

Love this product--set up a little challenging--GREAT delivery
First off, the delivery of this product--it's very large and heavy--was wonderful. The delivery people showed up on schedule and were very professional. Service like this should be the norm. I doubt our local electronics dealer would have done so well.
Once you get the product set up the picture is incredible. It took us a while to get everything connected properly, and we decided to upgrade our receiver to get HDMI connections rather than try to piece it all together. Keyword: settings. It took a while to get the settings on the various brands of equipment (TV, cable box, DVD, receiver) all to the optimum settings. Once this was accomplished, we have a better picture than we saw in the stores when we were researching these things.
On the way to becoming a couch potato, I am afraid.

Super TV
This Plasma TV has a truely beautiful picture. There are plenty of HDMI inputs for added equipment. The sound is great but should be enhanced with a stereo system for true surround sound when watching movies.

Phony financing offer
I recently ordered the Panasonic plasma after much research and chose Amazon, not for lowest price, but for 24 month free financing offer, even after reading other horror stories about GE and the financing. Well, consider me another victim. Even though I have paid off one home, 6 cars, numerous other similar financing offers and never made one late payment, always paying my credit card bills in full each month, the esteemed GE money bank does not consider me worthy of this financing offer. I have learned my lesson and will NEVER order anything like this from Amazon again. Some other vendor will get my business and I hope to enjoy this TV as much as other purchasers have. Oh, by the way, I got socked the shipping charges when I cancelled my order. BEWARE!

Super TV!
I love the TV. I had researched it for months on Amazon, and it's everything everyone said it was. Physically beautiful, great picture, lots of HD hook-ups. As many people say, the reflection on the screen is significant, but that's true of many TVs, and this one's virtues certainly outweigh its faults. I highly recommend it. White glove service was great, too!

Just what we expected..
We were impressed. We were looking for same equivalent of tv with the Samsung brand..it took us awhile to decide and were so relieved we went with Sony.Whew! Sleek-looking, picture is great, no need to close our windows when watching tv because no more glare! What a difference. This is actually one of the major deciding factor why we went with Sony not Samsung, even though Samsung is a little bit less expensive.

Sony HD is the BEST.
[...]
All my old movies look like High Def. The picture from the Satelite is amazing and Sony is the clearest best picture I have seen in HD. The non HD channels are OK but not great. I think it is because the HD channels are so flawless the regular stations can't compair.
I think the people having trouble are not using good HDMI cables. You don't need the best cables but use good cables.

Best 52" LCD HD-TV for the money
I did a lot of research when I decided to buy a 52" TV. I'm a student and a part-time salesman at a fortune 100 company in consumer electronics. After weeks or perhaps months of preparation and research I narrowed down my options to the Samsung A750 and the Sony bravia w4100. Now I did have a Samsung A550 and a Sony Trinitron High Def CRT at home and they were both pretty impressive but I figured that Sony does a better job in 52" or larger category after observing the w4100 and a750 for several days at work.
First off lets talk about the screen. The 50'000:1 contrast of the Samsung vs. 30'000:1 contrast ratio of the Sony. The way Samsung measures its contrast ration is radically different from Sony, that is why Samsung never discloses its "TRUE CONTRAST RATIO", but Sony does, in this case it's 3,000:1. Whatever the true contrast ration of Samsung it is not superior to that of Sony's this is something that most experts agree on. It is easy to blast your dynamic contrast ration but not your true contrast. Some claim that the Samsung produces deeper blacks but my answer is that this is due to Samsung's glossy mirrored screen and it has nothing to do with performance. Plus, Samsung manufactures all of Sony LCD screens so in terms of screen capability they are equal. If you have a bright room go for the sony, the screen is slightly brighter and not reflective like the Samy. The backlight for Sony seems to work brighter but its not as evenly distributed as the Samy, this is clear in the dark.
Second factor I checked for was the TV engine. We have the Samsung's Dnie Pro vs. Bravia 2. Well there is no question that bravia 2 is the clear winner here, being utilized by Sony XBR6 and XBR7 which go for about 00 dollars while the Samsung's DNIE pro is built to compete with the lower end Sony Bravia Engine Pro. Sony's Standard TV quality is excellent and the Samy is just as good but i noticed that Sony's colour was more natural ie. colour of grass in baseball. Also sony covers over %90 of colour Gamut while Samsung covers only %70, this maybe why skin tones and greens look more natural on the Sony.
Next up was refresh rate and here both run at 120 Hz and here Sony has dramatically improved over the XBR4 series in motionflow. Samsung also does really well in 120 Hz category so I say they are both a tie here.
Sound is another important factor for my decision, i blasted the 7 series at work and noticed poor sound quality in extreme volumes while the Sony better retained its quality. However the Samsung was capable of delivering deeper Bass probably due to its built in Subwoofer. Sony allows you to adjust voice volume and enable steady sound to prevent commercials from freaking you out in the middle of your favourite tv shows.
Finally last thing I looked for was design. Samsung 7 series looks fabulous with its glass like frame and a touch of red, but that is the problem for me, "red". I don't fancy a red TV and I think it's one of those fashion trends that would soon be "old fashioned". Sony however retains a more masculin design with fine glossy black frame and metal speakers at the bottom.
Its a pretty close call but having used both Sony and Samsung (sony for longer) i feel that sony is more capable of delivering quality products as most Japanese manufacteres do. Also sony has great customer service vs Samsung i have had a sony TV break once and there was a repair man at my door step in less than 12 hours servicing my TV at home (bulb replacement in a old projection tv). Sony is the innovator here while Samsung is the follower, that's one reason why i chose the sony. Biggest factor for me was the superior Sony TV engine and better design.
Sony is the best your money can buy for a TV overall, as it always has been since the day of Trinitron. I think it is worth the 100 bucks over the A750.

52" Sony W4100
Received the TV in a week and the box was in perfect condition and nothing wrong with the TV from shipping as that was a worry to me that I would receive it damaged and have to do a return so I was happy and the carrier was very careful unloading it in front of me.....Thanks

Great LCD TV
Picture and sound are great. Lives up to all my expectations. Using it with Comcast CableTV. HDTV crystal clear. Plenty of inputs. TVGuide feature works with cable, but only displays basic channels. I use the TV input (direct cable feed) for live HDTV, rather than the Video (DVR connection) or Component (HDTV and up conversion) inputs that are connected to the cable box.
Quick delivery.

Great TV
After doing a lot of research and consulting with others who are videophiles, I landed on a couple of different choices:
1. This one (Samsung PN58A650)
2. Older version (Samsung PN58A550)
3. LCD version (Samsung LN52A650)
After reviewing all of these, I decided that I wanted a plasma because the picture just seemed to pop more, plus it is 58" vs 52".
And as for why I didn't get the older version, there was no real reason other than that it didn't cost too much more plus I like that Red Touch of Color!
Either way, they are all great buys but I particularly love mine

Performance for the price is incredible
The flexiblity of the picture is incredible- the amount and quality of the adjustments you can make is truly staggering. I can't say enough about the quality of the picture once it's dialed in a bit, so much that I'll spend about 8% of the purchase price to get an ISF cal done once it's got a few hundred hours on it. What a vast improvement over my old HD RPTV.
There isn't much at all on the market that will give you this performance for the price. Check out AVSForum for more on that.
There are plenty of inputs, the USB allows firmware updates, supports 1080p60, and plenty of brightness. The TOC frame looks very slick, colored or no.
This was easily programmed via a Harmony 890 universal.

Excellent Picture and a great value
Before purchasing Samsung PN58A650, I had checked out comparable models from Panasonic and Pioneer. Overall, Samsung had better features and a lower price. Picture quality was comparable to the best. I had also looked at 120Hz LCD. Overall, Plasma had far superior picture compared to LCD (Better contrast, vibrant colors and unlike LCD there was no pixeling)
I ordered the Samsung on Amazon. The price was good. It was at least 0 lower than the best price I could have got from a local retailer. Later, Amazon also matched the price drop on their website (within 1 month of shipping) and refunded the difference. I only had to send them an e-mail request and within 1 hour, the difference was credited back. Can't expect this from a big box retailer!
The only complaint I have is that- at the time of placing the order, Amazon confirmed that TV was in stock, but they did not ship it out for 5 days. Next, the shipper did not bother to call us to schedule delivery for another 3-4 days while the TV was received in their warehouse. Finally, I had to contact them through Amazon to arrange delivery. Apart from that, the white glove delivery was great as promised.
It took a few hours to get familiar with the menus and setup procedure. Samsung could have made the process easier by including the manual on a DVD. The picture quality is excellent. The TV looks very attractive with the touch of red bezel. Our TV is located right across from a large window. The reflection is not as bad. The TV can be swiveled on the stand to optimize the viewing angle. Overall, it is a great TV at a good price.

Samsung 58 Plasma Touch of Red
I am happy with the TV, Great picture and attrative set. Compared to other manufacturers, Samsung has the best picture in this price range and size. I bought the Samsung 52 inch LCD 120 hrtz Touch of Red and I was blown away by picture but had a problem with set in menu mode so I decided to jump up to 58 inch. A down side is plasma heat and power consumption, second the picture does blur alittle time to time trying keep up with poor analog TV signal. Garbage in Garbage out. With digital TV and or good DVD this set is just as good as 52 inch, Great Picture. I would give it 5 stars but all Samsung sets have so called PIP or PAP where you must go into menu to get PIP and you can not swap picture and must go into menu again for PIP sound, A real pain!!!!So as for useable PIP (Football Sunday) forgit it. It is a good idea to have power conditioner like panamax for this plasma set as well, it is sensative to power changes, makes the tube flash a bit. You will like this TV for the price on Amazon.

BEWARE of Amazon Customer Service
This is a great TV. I bought this TV from Amazon as they were offering a 0 rebate over Labor Day Weekend. I received an email from Amazon stating that Amazon had made a mistake in listing the rebate as cash. The actual rebate was for 0 in sports memoribillia. Amazon would not honor the cash rebate even though it was their mistake. If you buy from Amazon beware that they will not honor their own mistake.

ULTIMATE HD/BLU-RAY EXPERIENCE!!!
Okay, I will make this short and sweet - This Plasma TV is absolutely the best big-screen experience I have ever witnessed - I have used several large format/hd monitors, Mitsubishi, Proscan, Sony, etc., and this one outperforms them all -
To those who complained about the problems with attaching their computer or video game machines - it's very simple DON'T!!! This TV and it's Wireless Components are designed for one thing - ABSOLUTE VIDEO - from high definition programming or Blu Ray DVD ------It is not an add-on for a Playstation or Xbox!!!
It is really a shame that SamSung is being criticized for designing and producing this TV - I can only state that if you want an unbelievable High Definition and Blu Ray picture, you owe it to yourself to check this instrument out.........THANK YOU SAMSUNG!!!

Shame on Samsung!
Shame on them for not plastering across the box of this unit in big red letters "CANNOT BE USED FOR ANYTHING BUT TV AND DVD!!!!!" The delay between the wireless box and the screen makes playing video games impossible and using the set with a computer in a business environment for things like powerpoint presentations a major annoyance. Why even release the thing until you have sufficient technology to fix this problem? We aren't THAT desperate for a wireless plasma! These days, even an elderly couple who would never in a million years consider playing a video game on their TV needs to take this into consideration because their grandkids will likely be coming over for the weekenend with their Nintendo Wii. What if they don't find out until a year or so after they purchase it? What a bummer! Like I said, shame on Samsung. This set will really be a letdown to a lot of people at some point during their ownership.

Not good for anything but watch TV delay is 180 ms
The Wireless causes the picture to delay for at least 180ms, your surround reciever needs to be able to delay or it will look like a bad synch'ed movie. Not any good for Wii or PS3, the wireless does break up once i a while, but there is no cable mess at all. I will return this TV and get another with long HDMI cables.

DO NOT USE FOR VIDEO GAMES!
The wireless system creates a delay that makes this TV unsuitable for use with video games. I have both a Nintendo Wii and a computer hooked up to the TV. With both, there is a noticeable and significant onscreen delay. If you simply want to watch television, this product is fine. However, if you want to use it for games, select another TV, you will be disappointed with this one.

Excellent!
My HLT71 also came with the black mar-resistant case.
Wow, what a great little TV! Not using the included antenna, but using another single retractable rod antenna - with a long cable attached, I was able, by moving the antenna away from the TV, to tune-in everything that my 27" Digital Sony can. Actually, even more analogue stations than the Sony.
Nothing in the advertising says this TV produces High Definition viewing. While it does pick-up HDTV stations, image quality is restricted by the LED television screen. But that image is really nice and sharp - almost HD.
Also, I can hardly believe that the included little lightweight lithium ion battery can be so powerful. It way out performs NmHd batteries. And the light weight AC adapter, and even the included lighter weight automobile adapter, they are of finest quality - like the TV itself.
It seems very odd that since this is the best 7" digital TV that I have ever seen that it is also the lowest in price. I got mine for 7.99 including free S&H.

Best portable Digital tuner TV
Great little TV. The item I received differed from the one pictured, it was rubberized black and had better controls. I comes with a removable battery pack, 12v and AC adapters and a stick antenna.
We use it for keeping up with college football games while watching our daughters travel softball team.
The TV decodes everything. ATSC (over the air digital TV), NTSC (analog TV), regular cable TV AND even non-encrypted QAM cable TV (that was a huge plus for me).
I tried a Radio Shack 7" that looks a lot like the Amazon picture of the Haier above; but this TV is MUCH MUCH better. The antennas with these TV's are crap, get the silver sensor sold on Amazon and you will be amazed the channels you can pull in with this TV.
Good Luck.

FANTASTIC 7 inch portable LCD TV !
I am really thrilled with my purchase of this Haier HLT71 7-inch, ATSC 2009-ready portable LCD TV! I have never heard of this name brand Haier, and I had heard many nightmare stories about some of the other name brands having poor pictures on these little screens, so I thought I'd give this Haier a try.
I ordered this tv directly from Amazon and it came to me from a seller on Amazon who goes by the name ANTOnline. The seller sent this perfect and fast to start with, which is always a big plus with me. When I opened the box, the set looked very sleek and light weight, just perfect! The tv I received is not silver like the picture shows in this description, but is black, with really simple control buttons on the front. I then looked at the directions, but realized, I didn't need to read them at all! Everything is really obvious! The set has a little slide switch on the side to turn on the power. The antenna screws in really easy. It comes with a plug for the inside electrical outlet, and a plug for the car lighter, and a lightweight rechargeable battery! It has a little remote control which they made very easy to read! After screwing on the antenna (or you can attach your cable cord if you are using it in the house), I basically plugged it in, slid the power switch on, pressed the button to scan for setting the channels, and it does it quickly! In about 1 minute, it was set! I then tried the small battery, and it played perfectly without the electric power!
The picture is absolutely gorgeous, as it has the new atsc digital signal receiver built in! To see the local programs in digital on this little screen was fantastic! Colors are crisp, sharp and vivid, just like a big hdtv!
The real plus for me, is the battery, because of so many electrical outages and bad storms, this is a must have item! The battery has a life of about 2-2 1/2 hours, perfect for a few shows while waiting out bad weather, or even for entertainment when traveling. The fantastic picture really blew me away. I just love the light weight of the tv, even with the battery, it's like a feather! There is even a built in stand to put it on a table! The sound is incredible as well- two speakers and really loud! This is unheard of on these small sets! They even thought of including a plug in for headphones, if you have them (headphones are not included), for quiet listening for airplane travel! Whoever designed this perfect set, knew what they were doing!
I am giving this perfect little tv 5 stars for being able to see a sharp, vivid, gorgeously colored hi-def picture, and set up without reading a direction, but especially because I can play it in my house, in my car, or carry it anywhere with the rechargeable battery, all at a great price too!
